iumi was born of a chance encounter between two artists, Aveleen and Paul, in a musical community, an alchemy of sound, music and poetry.

Aveleen had long been searching for an artist who could bring her, rich, dense, and complex world to life through music.

 

For his part, Paul had also been looking for a long time to write with an artist who could sing and possessed a truly unique universe.

And somehow, against all odds, they met...

 

Aveleen, whose voice is sometimes haunting, sometimes incredibly ethereal, takes her audience, with lyrics alternating between realism and fantasy, through landscapes of subtle colors and textures, with particularly chiseled melodies.

Perhaps Paul's passion for vintage synthesizers such as old uprights pianos, the Moog, the Jupiter 8 or the PPG is to blame.
